The Hoplo Catfish are found throughout the Amazon river basin region and are often caught in large schools by the native collectors. In the fish tank these catfish prefer to stake out their own territory in a rocky or wooded area. The holpo catfish is a good tankmate with similar size fish and will eat small tankmates, so don't keep this pet fish with fish he can fit in his mouth.
