Like its smaller cousin, the Zebra Otocinclus is a terrific scavenger and algae grazer in the aquarium. These fish are best with some natural wood in the fish tank, and in the wild these are schooling fish, so they prefer to swim in groups of three or more. Zebra Otocinclus must be wild-caught and are fished from the Rio Tigre river in Peru.

Care Guide
Tank setup: Give them a mature, planted tank with algae to graze, gentle filtration and stable, clean water.
Feeding: Otocinclus graze on soft algae, but don't rely on algae alone. Also feed algae wafers.
Tankmates: Otos are very peaceful and get along with almost any small community fish, plus shrimp and snails.
Good to know: Zebra otos are a rare striped otocinclus with bold black-and-white bands.
