The white wizard trapdoor snail, similar to but bigger than the Japanese trapdoor snail, is a soft white color. These aquatic snails grow to 2 inches. The name comes from the ability to predict poor water conditions: the snail will snap its door shut until water conditions improve. So this wizard will help the aquarist maintain the fish tank as best he can. And the wizard white snail does NOT eat plants.

Care Guide
Tank setup: Give them a mature tank with some algae and detritus to graze and stable, warm water. Keep the water hard enough for healthy shells.
Feeding: They graze on algae and leftover food and filter food from the water. In a clean aquarium, add algae wafers or sinking pellets.
Tankmates: They do well with peaceful community fish, shrimp and other snails. Avoid puffers, loaches and assassin snails.
Good to know: The "trapdoor" (operculum) lets them seal their shell when disturbed or when conditions are poor. Remove snails before using copper or other medications.
