Peacock Bass Orinocensis
Peacock Bass Orinocensis
Orinocensis Peacock Bass
There are 15 known species of peacock bass, great predators and game fish of the Amazon river basin. Peacock bass are fast predators and good jumpers. They are suitable tank mates with larger, aggressive fish. They will eat small fish before you even knew they were in the tank. They hunt in packs if you can put a School of four together.
The orinocensis peacock bass is also called the orinoco bass for the Amazon river that this fish calls home - or use to before he landed in our aquariums. The orinocensis peacock bass develops into a deep green and spotted predator and is the second smallest of the peacock bass - Kelberi is the smallest. These fish grow quickly and need a covered tank and eventually a big tank.
