Care Guide
Tank setup: Give them a heater, a gentle filter and plenty of plants, including floating plants. Keep a lid on the tank and leave a gap of air above the water, since gouramis breathe from the surface.
Feeding: Feed a quality flake or small pellet once or twice a day, only as much as they eat in a couple of minutes. They also enjoy frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp.
Tankmates: Keep them with small, peaceful fish such as rasboras, small tetras, corydoras and otocinclus. Avoid fin-nippers like tiger barbs and other male dwarf gouramis.
Good to know: Males can squabble with each other, so keep one male per tank, or several only in a heavily planted tank with lots of hiding places.
