The Threadfin Rainbowfish, also called the Featherfin Rainbowfish, are well known and cherished for the long flowing fins of the male. These are community schooling fish and best kept in a small school of six or more. AquariumFish.com will deliver in an even number of males and females. Males will display their pretty fins better in the presence of other tankmates. Females are easy to distinguish from the males; they do not have the long dorsal and anal fins.

Care Guide
Tank setup: Give them a planted tank with gentle filtration, some floating plants and a lid. They are small, so a sponge over the filter intake keeps them safe.
Feeding: Feed crushed flake or micro pellets once or twice a day, only as much as they eat in a couple of minutes. They also enjoy frozen brine shrimp.
Tankmates: Threadfins are gentle and slow, so keep them with small, peaceful fish. Avoid fin-nippers, which go after their long fin threads.
Good to know: Males grow long, thread-like fins that they spread out to show off to females.
