The African Lungfish can live in mud and lie dormant for 10 years without water - amazing creatures. Lung fish require live food such as feeder goldfish and will grow to nearly three feet. In fact natives of the Congo will place a mud encrusted block with a lung fish in their hut for eating on a later occasion. These African exotic fish are truly prehistoric and a favorite of public aquariums. This is perfect pet fish if every there was one - and you can eat them.
