Irian Jaya Broad Band Datnoid
The rare broad band datnoid, usually called the Irian Jaya Datnoid, has broader bands and much brighter markings than the gold or silver common datnoids. The species was discovered by an American air force pilot named Stuart Campell who got to add his part to biology history. Another name for the fish is the New Guinea Tiger Perch and it is found in only one river system on New Guinea. Be prepared to feed live black worms or live brine shimp, and you should be able to transition the fish to frozen over time.
Many brackish fish can be slowly transitioned to entirely fresh or entirely salt water. Aquarium Fish Sale brackish fish are maintained in LIGHT brackish conditions, the same conditions which our live bearers are kept, so most can be transitioned to all fresh water. However a pinch of salt never hurt anybody.
