This stunning fish is easily identified by its solid, brilliant magenta or fuchsia body, which lacks any stripes or spots. While Dottybacks are known for their territorial nature, the Purple Dottyback is considered one of the more peaceful species, generally coexisting well with other non-aggressive tank mates. It is completely reef-safe and will not harm corals or invertebrates, preferring to spend its time darting in and out of the rockwork.
