Care Guide
Tank setup: Use a sand bottom with rockwork and caves. Lake Victoria cichlids do well in moderately hard, slightly alkaline water.
Feeding: Feed a quality cichlid pellet or flake once or twice a day. They also enjoy frozen foods like brine shrimp.
Tankmates: Keep them with other Victorian or robust Malawi cichlids of similar size, with plenty of rockwork to break up territories.
Good to know: Many Lake Victoria cichlids are rare or extinct in the wild, so aquarium populations are important.
