The true golden rabbit snail, or gold rabbit snail, is carefully selected for a solid chocolate shell and clean gold body. Lesser grades are sold as yellow rabbit snails, but who wants a lesser rabbit?

These snails are larger than most freshwater aquatic species and are effective scavengers.

Care Guide

Tank setup: Rabbit snails come from warm, clean lakes in Sulawesi. Give them a soft sand bottom they can burrow in, warm water (76–84°F) and good water quality. Add calcium if your water is soft.

Feeding: Feed sinking pellets and algae wafers daily. Rabbit snails are big eaters and also clean up leftover food.

Tankmates: Rabbit snails do well with peaceful fish, shrimp and other snails that like warm water, such as discus and tetras. Avoid puffers, loaches and large cichlids.

Good to know: Rabbit snails are slow-moving and gentle, and they wave their long "ear-like" tentacles as they move. Remove snails before using copper or other medications.
