Brackish Snowflake Moray Eel
Brackish Snowflake Moray Eel
Brackish Water Snowflake Moray Eel
The brackish water moray eel, or incorrectly called the freshwater moray eel, is a wild eel found throughout the Philippines. These eels are hardy and peaceful but cannot be kept with anything that they can swallow. Like other eels and snakes, these fish swallow their prey and so they can open their mouths quite wide, so even small cichlids would not be suitable tank mates. Salinitey around 1.01 SG and a hiding place, some frozen food and maybe live ghost shrimp from time to time will keep them happy and living for 30 years. Yep, moray eels can live 30 years. One method to create a moray eel habitat and not distract from the beauty of the aquarium is to put in a PVC pipe and cover with rocks, leaving both ends open for a perfect cave.
