The black tiger dario is a rare small freshwater species from ponds in Burma (Myanmar) where they feed on tiny pond crustaceans and insects. Because of that, some frozen food should be used to transition these beautiful little fish to pellet and flake foods. The black tiger dario are perfect for planted aquariums and nano tanks. Males have very deep, rich colors and show more when in the presence of females. We try to ship an even number of both, as these fish tend to do better in small groups.

Care Guide
Tank setup: Give them a planted tank with caves, leaf litter and gentle filtration. They are shy and like plenty of hiding places.
Feeding: Badis are shy eaters that prefer small frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp. Some will learn to take small pellets once settled. Feed small amounts once or twice a day.
Tankmates: Keep them with small, calm fish such as rasboras, pygmy corydoras and shrimp. Avoid fast, pushy fish that would outcompete them for food.
Good to know: Males show their deepest colors when females are around.
