Exotic shrimp specifically bred for planted aquariums and nano tanks are extremely popular right now. Avoid certain fish such as cichlids, they will eat these shrimp and they are not cheap. Tetras, Rasboras, Pygmy Cory, Otocinclus all get along will well with aquarium shrimp.
