The most prevalent theory as to how this color came about for the Yellow Parrot Cichlid from Taiwan is through selective breeding of Midas and Severum Cichlids, but there is probably more to the story. Regardless, these bright yellow hybrids offer a beautiful alternative to an already big menu of exotic hybrid parrot cichlids. Like most parrots, their behavior is unpredictable and can run from peaceful to aggressive. Hybrids are a mixed bag in more ways than one.
