AquariumFish offers this unusually shaped long-snouted knife fish – and do not get alarmed when it is seen unmoving on the bottom of the tank. They tend to sleep on their sides. The trumpet knife, or ossa knife, is wild-caught in Peru and prefers live black worms and similar treats, and feeds primarily at night. These knife fish live a long time, are docile, and have a very nice, fine marble pattern.

Care Guide
Tank setup: Give them a soft sand bottom they can burrow into, plants, dim lighting and a tight lid. They are most active at night.
Feeding: Feed small frozen foods like bloodworms in the evening. They use their long snout to pick food from the sand.
Tankmates: They are peaceful and gentle. Keep them with calm fish that won't outcompete them for food.
Good to know: Trumpet knifefish often rest on their side on the bottom, which is normal.
