The Trinidad Pleco was the first pleco sold in the trade. Originally from South America, the invasive catfish can be found all over Florida. These plecos are cheap and tough to kill. The plecos are so hardy and grow so large, many are sold to the pond trade, though the fish do not tolerate temperatures below 68 degrees F.
These fish grow fast and are great scavengers.
