Striped Leporinus
Leporinus fasciatus, or striped leporinus, are great community fish for fish their own size. As they grow they may consume their very small tank mates like neon tetras. The striped leporinus is a hardy scavenger fish and will eat most anything fed to them. These fish are rare and, though not strikingly colorful, have an unusual body shape and feeding behavior - similar to a headstander. Leporinus prefer to rest in a hidden area but will be active at feeding time. These fish at some point will outgrow small fish such as tetras but are suitable for most mid size and large aquarium pets.
