The latest gene-spliced treat from the Spectrum company (via their secret lab in Singapore) is the Starfire Red Gourami. The parent of the red gourami is a pearl gourami, but with genetic magic, this gourami is a super bright fluorescent red. These fish are peaceful and can be added to any aquarium that would be suitable for a standard pearl gourami.

Care Guide
Tank setup: Give them a heater, a gentle filter and plenty of plants, with some open space for swimming. Keep a lid on the tank and leave a gap of air above the water, since gouramis breathe from the surface.
Feeding: Feed a quality flake or small pellet once or twice a day, only as much as they eat in a couple of minutes. They also enjoy frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp.
Tankmates: They get along with most peaceful community fish of similar size, such as tetras, rasboras, corydoras and peaceful barbs. Avoid fin-nippers like tiger barbs.
Good to know: GloFish colors look brightest under a blue or actinic LED light. Care is the same as for a regular pearl gourami.
