Care Guide
Tank setup: Give them a planted tank with caves, leaf litter and gentle filtration. They are shy and like plenty of hiding places.
Feeding: Badis are shy eaters that prefer small frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp. Some will learn to take small pellets once settled. Feed small amounts once or twice a day.
Tankmates: Keep them with small, calm fish such as rasboras, pygmy corydoras and shrimp. Avoid fast, pushy fish that would outcompete them for food.
Good to know: Males are bright red with blue fins; females are plain silver. Their tiny size and shy nature make them a great fit for planted tanks.
