Red Tail Prochilodus

The colorful Red Tail Prochilodus, also called the Flag Tail Prochilodus, are amazing jumpers so keep a good cover. In fact they are probably the best jumpers in the AquariumFish.com freshwater warehouse. There is a Silver Prochilodus, but these cheaper variations have little color and are seldom imported for the aquarium trade. Prochilodus are herbivores so they require prepared food with some veggies. Oddly they are mean herbivores - they will eat small prey even if they don't like them. These fish do well with other species of similar size. But please keep a cover on the tank at all times. Prochilodus are jumpers!
