The freshwater purple spot goby is a bottom dweller and a bit territorial, but easy to keep and feed. The purple spot goby has light reflective purple along the body; males display a bit more color than females.

Care Guide
Tank setup: Give them a planted tank with caves, driftwood and gentle filtration. They are cave spawners, so small caves or pipes encourage breeding.
Feeding: Feed micro pellets or a quality flake once or twice a day. They also enjoy frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp.
Tankmates: They get along with small, peaceful community fish such as tetras, rasboras, rainbowfish and corydoras. They may eat baby shrimp.
Good to know: Gudgeons are cave spawners; the male guards the eggs until they hatch.
