Pignose puffers are mean and will eat any small fish and frozen meaty foods - but supply snails and crayfish from time to time so they can keep their teeth in shape. Also called the arrowhead puffer, these are freshwater puffers and live a long time in the wild Mekong River.

Care Guide
Tank setup: Give them plants, rocks and hiding places, and good filtration, since puffers are messy eaters.
Feeding: Puffers need meaty foods and usually won't eat flake. Feed frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp once a day. They also enjoy small snails, which help keep their teeth trimmed.
Tankmates: Pignose puffers will eat any small fish and bite others. Keep them alone.
Good to know: Pignose puffers bury themselves in sand and wait to ambush food, often with just their eyes showing.
