Freshwater aquarium peacock gudgeon gobies are commonly called peacock gudgeons. The peacock goby is a colorful bottom dweller from Papua New Guinea, and males and females both have pleasant red and yellow colors. The peacock goby is hardy and readily available in the aquarium trade, as these freshwater gobies are imported from Asia and pond-raised in Florida.

Care Guide
Tank setup: Give them a planted tank with caves, driftwood and gentle filtration. They are cave spawners, so small caves or pipes encourage breeding.
Feeding: Feed micro pellets or a quality flake once or twice a day. They also enjoy frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp.
Tankmates: They get along with small, peaceful community fish such as tetras, rasboras, rainbowfish and corydoras. They may eat baby shrimp.
Good to know: Gudgeons are cave spawners; the male guards the eggs until they hatch.
