Care Guide
Tank setup: Give them a planted tank with gentle filtration, floating plants and a dark background, which shows off their glowing eyes. Keep a lid on the tank.
Feeding: Feed crushed flake or micro pellets once or twice a day, only as much as they eat in a couple of minutes. They also enjoy frozen brine shrimp.
Tankmates: Lampeyes get along with other tiny, peaceful fish such as small rasboras, tetras, pygmy corydoras and shrimp. Avoid large or boisterous fish that may eat or stress them.
Good to know: Their glowing eyes show best in a group under soft lighting with a dark background.
