Care Guide
Tank setup: Give them strong current, high oxygen, rocky caves and driftwood. Keep the water warm and very clean, since they produce a lot of waste on a meaty diet.
Feeding: Feed meaty sinking foods like carnivore pellets. They also enjoy frozen foods like shrimp and bloodworms.
Tankmates: They do well with most community fish and cichlids of similar size. They may eat very small fish or shrimp. Give each pleco its own cave.
Good to know: These plecos have strong, toothed mouths and prefer meaty foods; they usually leave plants alone.
