The julii cory, or leopard cory, is a classic leopard spot cory and one of the very first fish available to the aquatic trade. Julii cory have a lot of personality and are extremely hardy. The body is light silver with black spots like the South American leopard but with the disposition of a kitten. (Just a quick note on julii and false julii cory: the breeders and collectors do not distinguish between the two, and the differences are minor, so AquariumFish.com does not distinguish either.) If you really, really need to know, ask customer service, and we will take a look at this week's cory julii.

Care Guide
Tank setup: Give them a heater, a gentle filter and a soft sand or smooth, fine gravel bottom. Plants, driftwood and a few shady spots help them feel secure. Corys are sensitive to salt and some medications (especially copper), so check labels before treating the tank.
Feeding: Corys need their own food, not just leftovers. Feed sinking pellets or wafers once or twice a day so food reaches the bottom. They also enjoy frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp.
Tankmates: Corys get along with almost any peaceful community fish, such as tetras, rasboras, livebearers, gouramis, angelfish and bettas. Avoid large fish that could swallow them and aggressive bottom dwellers.
Good to know: Most "julii" corys in the trade are actually the near-identical false julii (C. trilineatus); care is the same for both.
