Ram is short for the species name “ramirezi”, but also reminiscent of their tendency to butt heads like a terrestrial ram. These are beautiful fish whether captive-bred for color, such as German Blue Rams, or wild such as Bolivian Rams. They are peaceful, hardy, and get along with other species.
The Electric Blue Balloon Rams are bred to be a dwarf little metallic blue ball. These fish look striking in a planted tank and the species is peaceful and hardy.

Care Guide
Tank setup: Rams need warm, clean, soft water. Give them a sand bottom, plants, driftwood and flat stones for spawning.
Feeding: Feed a quality cichlid pellet or flake once or twice a day. They also enjoy frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp.
Tankmates: Rams get along with peaceful community fish such as tetras, rasboras, corydoras and peaceful gouramis.
Good to know: Balloon rams are bred for a short, round body, so they swim a little slower than regular rams and do best with calm tankmates.
