The dojo loach is also called the weather loach because it tends to get more active when bad weather approaches. In fact, this aquarium fish has been used for centuries to predict coming storms. Dojo loaches need clean water and room to swim. Dojo loaches are friendly, tolerate colder water temperatures and will eat most foods.
*A few states will not allow gold or regular dojos: New York, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota and Alabama.

Care Guide
Tank setup: These are coldwater loaches that need no heater in most homes. Give them a soft sand bottom for burrowing, smooth rocks, plants and a tight-fitting lid, since they are skilled escape artists.
Feeding: Feed sinking pellets or wafers once or twice a day. They scavenge leftover food from the bottom and also enjoy frozen bloodworms.
Tankmates: They do well with other peaceful coldwater fish like goldfish, white clouds and other loaches. Avoid tropical fish that need warm water.
Good to know: Dojo loaches are sometimes called weather loaches because they become restless when air pressure changes before a storm.
