The Asians created GloFish® by splicing the genes of zebra danios and hi-fin white skirt tetras and tiger barbs with phosphorescent corals and jellyfish. The fish were patented and licensed for sale in the USA several years ago once the FDA determined them to be safe for the environment. Though these fish do not actually glow in the dark, they are truly fluorescent and will keep that bright color throughout their lifespan.
Cosmic green glo danios are one of the brightest and most popular colors, and all danios are very hardy and great for beginners or new aquarium setups.

Care Guide
Tank setup: Give them a filter, a lid and open swimming space. Danios are tough and do well in new aquarium setups.
Feeding: Feed a quality flake or small pellet once or twice a day, only as much as they eat in a couple of minutes. They also enjoy frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp.
Tankmates: Danios get along with most peaceful community fish, including tetras, rasboras, corydoras, other danios and GloFish.
Good to know: GloFish colors look brightest under a blue or actinic LED light. Danios are fast jumpers, so keep a lid on the tank.
