Care Guide
Tank setup: Clown killifish live at the very surface, so use a planted tank with floating plants, a gentle filter (a sponge filter is ideal) and a tight lid. Keep the water warm, soft and clean.
Feeding: Feed tiny foods like crushed flake or micro pellets in small amounts a few times a day. They also enjoy frozen brine shrimp.
Tankmates: Keep clown killifish in a species tank or with other tiny, peaceful fish like small rasboras, pygmy corydoras and shrimp. Larger fish will outcompete them or eat them.
Good to know: Males show the bright, striped tail fin that gives the fish its name; females are plainer.
