The Bolivian ram is a separate species from the blue rams, which have been bred into many variations like the gold ram, the German blue ram and the angel veil ram. Bolivian rams are just Bolivian rams in all their natural color. These rams tend to be hardier, and they grow faster than the blue ram found in Colombia.

Care Guide
Tank setup: Give them a sand bottom, plants, driftwood and flat stones or caves for spawning. Bolivian rams tolerate cooler and harder water than blue rams.
Feeding: Feed a quality small cichlid pellet or flake once or twice a day. They also enjoy frozen foods like bloodworms and brine shrimp.
Tankmates: Bolivian rams do well with peaceful community fish like tetras, rasboras, barbs, corydoras and other peaceful dwarf cichlids. They may eat small shrimp.
Good to know: Bolivian rams are hardier and more forgiving than blue rams, making them a great first dwarf cichlid.
