Start these small colorful rainbows out right by introducing them into the aquarium in a school. The Gertrudae will be more likely to swim in the open waters and not hide from potential predators (hopefully there aren't any).

Care Guide
Tank setup: Give them a planted tank with gentle filtration, some floating plants and a lid. They are small, so a sponge over the filter intake keeps them safe.
Feeding: Feed crushed flake or micro pellets once or twice a day, only as much as they eat in a couple of minutes. They also enjoy frozen brine shrimp.
Tankmates: Blue-eyes are small and gentle, so keep them with other small, peaceful fish such as rasboras, small tetras, pygmy corydoras and shrimp.
Good to know: Males have spotted, sail-like fins they flare at each other to show off. Their bright blue eyes stand out in a planted tank.
