Bellus Angelfish

Bellus Angelfish

The Bellus Angelfish (Genicanthus bellus), also known as the Ornate Angelfish, is identified by its unique sexual dimorphism: males have a striking pattern of horizontal black and orange stripes on a creamy-white body, while females are a more uniform gray or bluish-gray. As a planktivore, it is an excellent choice for a community tank and is completely reef-safe, making it an ideal inhabitant for a reef aquarium. It is an active and graceful swimmer that requires plenty of open water to roam. Discovered by our famous American ichthyologist John Randall in 1975. Bella just means handsome. In fact, John Randall described and named more coral fish species than anyone else in history.

Why the Bellus Angelfish is a Great Choice:

• Generally Peaceful: It coexists well with other fish, making it a great community tank addition.
• Completely Reef-Safe: It will not harm corals, clams, or other invertebrates.
• Stunning & Unique Appearance: Its sexual dimorphism and elegant shape make it a showpiece.
• Active Swimmer: It adds a lot of energy and graceful movement to a spacious aquarium.
