The Red Fantail Goldfish is one of the hardiest and most prolific goldfish in the trade. Fantail Goldfish were developed in Europe from the Ryukin goldfish and have less slope on the back and are faster swimmers. These fish will do well in a pond and aquarium and compete fine for food. Red fantails are a solid bright orange color. AquariumFish.com generally sells goldfish no smaller than two inches to ensure a safe trip and good adaptation to the fish tank.

Care Guide
Tank setup: Give them a strong filter and smooth decorations. Goldfish are cool-water fish and do not need a heater.
Feeding: Feed a quality goldfish flake or pellet once or twice a day, only as much as they eat in a couple of minutes. They also enjoy frozen brine shrimp and bloodworms.
Tankmates: Keep them with other fancy goldfish. They are also hardy enough for ponds.
Good to know: Fantails have a split, double tail that fans out as they swim.
